Treg
Taylor / Candi English

Treg Taylor and Candi English are the Republican ticket for Alaska governor and lieutenant governor in the November 2026 election.

Background

Treg Taylor is a Republican candidate for governor of Alaska in the November 3, 2026 general election, running alongside lieutenant governor candidate Candi English. Taylor served as Alaska Attorney General from 2021 to August 2025, having previously been deputy attorney general overseeing the Civil Division from 2018 to 2021. Before joining state government, he worked in commercial litigation and as counsel for McKinley Capital Management and senior counsel for ASRC Energy Services. He holds a B.A. in political science from Brigham Young University and attended the U.S. Air Force Academy; he also earned a J.D. from BYU. He and his wife raised their six children in Anchorage. 234

Candi English, Taylor's running mate for lieutenant governor, is founder and owner of Northern Solutions, LLC, an Anchorage-based machine shop serving the oil, gas, and mining industries. She came to Alaska during the 1970s pipeline boom and worked on the North Slope for ARCO Alaska for approximately 20 years before founding Northern Solutions. Her candidate filing notes she has never previously held elected office. 16

Neither Taylor nor English is the incumbent; Alaska's current governor is Mike Dunleavy. Both candidates are registered Republicans and were certified by the Alaska Division of Elections for the 2026 general election ballot. 71721
