Steven Horsford is the U.S. Representative for Nevada's 4th Congressional District, a seat he has held since 2019, following an earlier term from 2013 to 2015. 26 Born and raised in Las Vegas, he earned a B.A. from the University of Nevada, Reno, in 2014. 2

Before entering elected office, Horsford led Nevada's Culinary Training Academy, described as the state's largest job-training program, for more than a decade. 31 He was subsequently elected to the Nevada State Senate in 2004, serving as state Senate majority leader from 2009 to 2012. 26

Horsford serves as a Democrat representing a southern Nevada district that includes parts of the Las Vegas metropolitan area. He is running for reelection in 2026, with the FEC classifying him as an incumbent Democratic candidate for Nevada House District 4. 1514
