Background

Scott G. Perry is the Republican U.S. Representative for Pennsylvania's 10th Congressional District, having served in Congress since 2013; Congress.gov notes he has represented the 10th District since 2019. 1112 He was born in San Diego, California, and is a resident of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania. 412

Before his congressional career, Perry served three terms in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2007 to 2012, including as Deputy Whip from 2009 to 2012. 4 He also held a lengthy military career in the U.S. Army and Pennsylvania Army National Guard, retiring at the rank of brigadier general in 2019. 12

Perry graduated from Northern High School and Cumberland-Perry Vo-Tech School in 1980, earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration Management from Pennsylvania State University in 1991, and a master's degree in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. 1 Prior to his political career, he worked as a mechanic, dock worker, draftsman, and licensed insurance agent, and co-founded a mechanical contracting company with his mother in 1993. 12
