Background

Pia Dandiya is a Democratic challenger running for the U.S. House of Representatives in Florida's 22nd Congressional District, with the general election scheduled for November 3, 2026. 157 She was born and raised in Palm Beach County and holds a B.A. in Government from Harvard University and a master's degree in Education from Boston University, earned in partnership with Teach For America. 311

Dandiya began her career as a middle and high school teacher before becoming the founding principal of a high school at age 28. 1120 She later served as a White House Fellow, working with the Domestic Policy Council and the Department of Education, and subsequently held the role of Manager of Strategic Initiatives at Apple through June 2025. 1117

Her campaign emphasizes her background in education and public service, and she has drawn national attention as an Indian-American candidate with roots in both Florida and education reform. 29 The Cook Political Report moved Florida's 22nd District from "Lean R" ahead of the general election, reflecting increased competitiveness in the race. 1223
