In a KLTV interview, Dixon argued that lower taxes must come with lower spending, opposed taxpayer subsidies for AI data centers, and criticized the proposed 765-kilovolt transmission buildout citing eminent domain concerns.

The Katy Fulshear Times reported Dixon's proposals to oppose tax breaks for large businesses and data centers, require growth to fund its infrastructure demands, cut state spending before lowering taxes, and support a statewide scholarship allowing school funds to follow each child.

A University of Massachusetts Lowell/YouGov poll of likely voters conducted September 18–28 placed Dixon at 1%, with Abbott at 48% and Hinojosa at 44%.

The Texas Tribune reported Dixon had $2,369 cash on hand and had raised $15,138 from January 1 through September 24. Notable donors included Libertarian Booster PAC ($2,000 in-kind), Chris Rufer ($2,000), and others.

On his campaign website, Dixon published a statement distancing himself from a head-to-head framing against his opponents, characterizing his candidacy as applying for a job on behalf of Texans.

A Mason-Dixon poll of 625 likely Texas voters conducted September 8–10 showed Dixon receiving 1%, with Abbott at 48% and Hinojosa at 41%. Margin of error was 4 points.

The Texas Secretary of State's general-election ballot certification listed Dixon as the Libertarian candidate for governor, with the general election set for November 3.
