Background
Nancy Wallace is the Green Party candidate for Maryland's 8th Congressional District in the November 2026 general election. A lifelong Montgomery County resident, she was born on Long Island, New York, and moved to Bethesda, Maryland, at six months old. She holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Yale University and attended the University of Virginia School of Law for one year, with additional studies in physics, engineering, and programming. [13, 16]
Wallace's career spans environmental advocacy, technology, and federal contracting. She founded the International Entanglement Network (1983–85) and served as the Sierra Club's Washington Director for its International Population Program (1990–94). Beginning in 1994, she supported Immigration and Naturalization Service software systems through Electronic Data Systems and later Computer Sciences Corporation, and subsequently supported the Treasury Department and Department of Defense. 13
Her campaign biography describes her current work as a data coordinator for ecological restoration projects supporting the Department of Commerce, and as a process engineer. She has served as co-chair of the Montgomery County Green Party since February 2015. [13, 12]
Wallace is not the incumbent; Maryland's 8th District is currently represented by Democrat Jamie Raskin, who has held the seat since 2017. Wallace's campaign is headquartered in Bethesda and her official website is nancywallace.us. [16, 20, 23]
