Michael
"Mike" Collins

Georgia GOP congressman Mike Collins is the 2026 Republican nominee for U.S. Senate, challenging incumbent Democrat Jon Ossoff.

Background

Michael "Mike" Collins is a Republican U.S. Representative for Georgia's 10th Congressional District, serving since January 3, 2023. He was born and raised in Jackson, Georgia, where he continues to reside, and graduated from Piedmont Academy in Monticello (1985) before earning a B.B.A. from Georgia State University in 1990. 12

Before entering politics, Collins was a business owner and trucking-company executive; he and his wife founded a trucking company in the early 1990s, and his Senate campaign biography notes he started his first trucking business at age 25. He also served as president of the Butts County Chamber of Commerce and as chairman of the board of Associated Credit Union. He ran unsuccessfully for the Republican congressional nomination in 2014. 231

Collins won the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate in Georgia in the June 16, 2026, runoff election and is the GOP nominee in the November 3, 2026, general election. The incumbent senator he seeks to unseat is Democrat Jon Ossoff. 1315
