Dittmer spent approximately 15 years in corporate retail and the fashion industry, including work with Kate Spade and Coach, becoming a corporate-retail vice president at age 33. Dittmer was born and raised in the Midwest, with time spent in a Chicago suburb and on her grandfather's farm in southern Indiana. She and her family relocated to Fort Mill, South Carolina in 2020. In 2025, she was selected to attend The Campaign School at Yale, a nonpartisan campaign-training program. 1
She won the June 9, 2026 Democratic primary with approximately 55.8% of the vote over opponent Andrew Clough, and is now the Democratic nominee for the November 3, 2026 general election. 1325
