Background

Lucy McBath is the Democratic U.S. Representative for Georgia's 6th Congressional District. Born in Joliet, Illinois, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Virginia State University in 1982 and later worked as a Delta Air Lines flight attendant for approximately 30 years. 15

Following the 2012 shooting death of her son Jordan Davis, McBath became a prominent gun-violence prevention advocate before entering electoral politics. She was first elected to Congress in 2018, representing Georgia's 6th District in the 116th Congress, and has been re-elected to three succeeding Congresses. She represented the 6th District from 2019 to 2023, the 7th District from 2023 to 2025, and has represented the 6th District again since 2025. 118
