Loureiro Trahan

Incumbent Democratic U.S. Representative for Massachusetts's 3rd District, serving since 2019

Background

Lori Loureiro Trahan is the U.S. Representative for Massachusetts's 3rd Congressional District, having served since January 3, 2019. A native of Lowell, Massachusetts, she attended Lowell High School before earning a B.S. from Georgetown University in 1995 on a volleyball scholarship — becoming the first in her family to graduate from college. She also attended Harvard University in 2013. 135

Before entering politics, Trahan worked for U.S. Representative Marty Meehan, ultimately serving as his chief of staff from 1995 to 2005. She subsequently worked as a technology company executive and co-founded a consulting firm. Her 2018 congressional run was the first time she had ever sought public office. 15

In Congress, Trahan serves as co-chair of the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee, a senior whip, and a member of the Democratic Steering and Policy Committee. She is running for re-election in the November 3, 2026 general election in Massachusetts's 3rd District. 11214
