"Jamie"
Davis

Louisiana farmer and Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Jamie Davis challenges Republican Rep. Julia Letlow for the state's Senate seat.

Background

Jamie Davis is a Louisiana farmer and Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in the November 3, 2026 election. Born in Houston, he grew up in the Louisiana Delta and is from Waterproof, Louisiana; NOLA.com reports he currently lives in Ferriday. He attended Louisiana State University, studying electrical engineering, but left during his sophomore year to work with his father at Davis Farms, which he now owns and operates, growing sorghum, corn, soy, and cotton across more than 3,200 acres. 25

Davis was elected to the Tensas Parish Police Jury in 2015, serving one four-year term including as vice president, before losing his reelection bid in 2019. He also unsuccessfully challenged state Rep. C. Travis Johnson in 2023. He represents the 5th Congressional District on the Louisiana Democratic State Central Committee, a party role. 21012

Davis emerged as the Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate seat following the primary process. He is running against Republican U.S. Rep. Julia Letlow in the general election to determine Louisiana's next senator. Former Gov. John Bel Edwards endorsed Davis ahead of the general election. 789

Davis's campaign focuses on issues including economic development, transparency, and accountability. He has called for policies such as data center regulation and has drawn national attention and donations to Louisiana Democrats. 1116
