Background
Harriet Hageman is a Wyoming Republican politician and attorney currently serving as the U.S. Representative for Wyoming's at-large congressional district. She has held that House seat since January 3, 2023, and is serving her second term. Before Congress, Hageman worked for more than three decades as a trial litigator, with experience as a judicial clerk, in private legal practice, as an adjunct professor, and as a staff attorney in the Wyoming Attorney General's office. 1/)317
Hageman was born in Douglas, Wyoming, grew up on a ranch outside of Fort Laramie, and later resided in Cheyenne. She graduated from Lingle-Fort Laramie High School in 1981, attended Casper College from 1981 to 1983, and earned both a bachelor's degree (1986) and a J.D. (1989) from the University of Wyoming. She previously ran for the Republican nomination for Wyoming governor in 2018 but was unsuccessful. 1/)1718
In 2026, Hageman won the Republican primary and is the GOP candidate for the U.S. Senate seat in Wyoming being vacated by retiring Senator Cynthia Lummis. The general election is scheduled for November 3, 2026. She is not the incumbent for this Senate seat. 61622
Hageman has been endorsed by and closely associated with former President Donald Trump, having first gained national attention when she challenged incumbent Rep. Liz Cheney in the 2022 Republican primary. 23
