Background
Guy Meilleur is a Libertarian candidate running for North Carolina's 4th Congressional District seat in the November 3, 2026 general election, challenging Democratic incumbent Valerie Foushee. 2 He lists his current occupation as consulting arborist and says he has been a small-business owner in North Carolina for 40 years. 2
Meilleur's campaign biography states he moved to North Carolina in 1985 to study under Dr. J.C. Raulston at North Carolina State University, where he later served as a lecturer and curator. He also worked as an arborist at the University of North Carolina, taught at Duke University, and has been active as a consulting and working arborist, educator, writer, and participant in tree-care standards committees. 14 He has lived in Durham with his partner since 2015. 14
