Background

Frank Pallone Jr. is the Democratic U.S. Representative for New Jersey's 6th Congressional District, a seat he has held since 1988. He was born and raised in Long Branch, New Jersey, where he continues to reside. He holds a B.A. from Middlebury College (1973), an M.A. from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University (1974), and a J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law, Camden (1978). 2

Before entering Congress, Pallone served on the Long Branch City Council (1982–1988) and in the New Jersey State Senate (1983–1988). He also practiced law and worked as an assistant professor at Cook College's Rutgers Sea Grant Extension Program, as counsel to Monmouth County Protective Services for the Elderly, and as an instructor at Monmouth College. 124

Pallone was first elected to the House in a 1988 special election, and has been re-elected continuously since. He is the incumbent candidate in the November 3, 2026 general election for New Jersey's 6th District. 28
