Background
Eric Conroy is the Republican nominee for Ohio's 1st Congressional District in the November 2026 general election, challenging incumbent Democratic Rep. Greg Landsman. He won the Republican primary decisively on May 5, 2026. The FEC classifies him as a challenger. 313
Conroy's campaign biography describes him as a U.S. Air Force intelligence officer who attained the rank of captain and worked alongside Special Operations forces, followed by service as a CIA case officer in the Directorate of Operations with reported postings in Afghanistan, Poland, and Iraq.
