Background
Eileen Laubacher is the 2026 Democratic challenger for Colorado's 4th Congressional District, running against Republican incumbent Lauren Boebert. A first-time candidate, she retired from the U.S. Navy in October 2024 after 34 years of service, having risen to the rank of rear admiral. 235
Laubacher graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. Her Navy career included roles as an intelligence officer, Senior Defense Official and Defense Attaché to India (2019–2022), and Senior Director for South Asia at the National Security Council (October 2022–May 2024). 624
After leaving active duty, Laubacher and her husband settled in Colorado, where she joined the Navy Reserve. CPR reported in September 2026 that she lives in Highlands Ranch; the Navy's biography identifies Littleton as her home. 3624
