Derek Tran is a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives serving California's 45th Congressional District since 2025. He was born and raised in Los Angeles County and moved to Orange County in 2012, where he now resides in the city of Orange. 414

Before entering Congress, Tran worked as a consumer and workers' rights attorney and co-owned an independent pharmacy with his wife. He also worked on public-safety policy for the mayor of Los Angeles and served as an appointed traffic commissioner for the City of Orange. He holds a B.S. in Economics-Finance from Bentley University and a J.D. from Glendale University College of Law. 148
