Background

Dave Min is a Democratic U.S. representative serving California's 47th Congressional District since January 2025, having won the seat in the 2024 election. 13 Before his time in Congress, he served in the California State Senate from 2020 to 2024, representing the 37th Senate District. 131

Prior to elected office, Min worked as an enforcement attorney at the Securities and Exchange Commission, served in Senator Chuck Schumer's office and on Senate and congressional committees, worked at the Center for American Progress, and taught law at UC Irvine. 23 He holds a B.A. in philosophy and B.S. in economics from the University of Pennsylvania, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. 13

Min resides in Irvine, California, and is running for re-election in the November 2026 general election for CA-47 as the incumbent. 16
