Background

Daniel Philip Meuser is the Republican U.S. Representative for Pennsylvania's 9th Congressional District, a seat he has held since January 2019. He was born in Flushing, Queens, New York, graduated from Babylon High School in 1982, attended New York Maritime University in 1982–83 on a U.S. Navy ROTC scholarship, and earned a B.A. in economics and government from Cornell University in 1986. 124

Before entering politics, Meuser built a lengthy career at Pride Mobility Products, which he joined in 1988. He rose through roles including regional manager, national sales manager, vice president, senior vice president, and ultimately president of Pride USA, a position he held for approximately seven years. He subsequently served as Pennsylvania Secretary of Revenue from 2011 to 2015, an appointive role in the state's gubernatorial administration. 14

First elected to Congress in 2018, Meuser has served on the House Financial Services Committee and the House Small Business Committee. As of the 119th Congress (2025–2027), he chairs the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations. He resides in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. 123

Meuser is seeking reelection in the November 3, 2026 general election for Pennsylvania's 9th Congressional District. 8
