Chad Koppie is the 2026 Republican nominee for Illinois's 7th Congressional District, having won the GOP primary on March 17, 2026. 13 He is a lifetime farmer from Gilberts, Illinois, who farms an 80-acre property and rents an additional 600 acres, and is a retired Delta Air Lines jumbo-jet captain with 35 years of flying experience out of O'Hare and JFK airports. 6
Koppie attended aviation school at Purdue University. 6 His public service record includes serving as a Rutland Township trustee (1983–1987), a District 300 School Board member (1987–1991), and on the Kane County Regional Board of Schools, where his campaign describes him as currently serving a second term.
