Ceretta Smith is the 2026 Democratic nominee for Georgia's 12th Congressional District, challenging incumbent Republican Rep. Rick Allen in the November 3, 2026 general election. 31417 She has served on the Grovetown, Georgia City Council since her 2021 election and was re-elected in March 2025. 313 Prior to her political career, Smith served in the U.S. Army as a medic from February 1992 to May 2000 and later worked as a physical evaluation boards liaison officer at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center from November 2007 to September 2015, followed by a role as an AFGE union official from February 2015 to February 2020. 2 Smith holds a bachelor's degree in Bible/Biblical Studies from Minnesota Graduate School of Theology and a master's degree in Guidance and Counseling from Sacramento School of Theology, and also studied Business Administration and Management at Augusta Technical College. 2
