Background
Caroline Shinkle is a corporate attorney and the Republican nominee for New York's 12th Congressional District (NY-12) in the November 2026 general election. She is running to fill the seat being vacated by retiring Rep. Jerrold Nadler. Her campaign describes her as a Midtown Manhattan resident who has worked at an international law firm in New York City, advising businesses and financial institutions on mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, and financial regulation. 2611
Before her legal career, Shinkle held positions at the European Central Bank in Frankfurt, the Bank of Israel in Jerusalem, and the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C. During law school she also spent time at the Bank for International Settlements in Basel. 6
