Background

Beth Van Duyne is the Republican U.S. Representative for Texas's 24th Congressional District, having served in Congress since January 3, 2021. She is currently serving in the 119th Congress (2025–2027) and is the Republican incumbent in the November 2026 general election. 12922

Before her congressional career, Van Duyne served as a member of the Irving City Council from 2004 to 2010 and as Mayor of Irving from 2011 to 2017. She subsequently served as a regional administrator for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development from 2017 to 2019, and has a background as a consultant and business executive. 12

Van Duyne was educated at Greenhill School in Addison, Texas, graduating in 1988, and earned a B.A. from Cornell University in 1995. Irving, Texas has been her home for more than 30 years. 12

She is a member of the Republican Party and represents a district in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. The Federal Election Commission identifies her as an incumbent candidate for the 24th District. 922
