Background

Ann Wagner is the Republican U.S. representative for Missouri's 2nd Congressional District, having served in Congress since January 2013. She was born and raised in the district, attending Cor Jesu Academy (graduating 1980) and earning a B.S.B.A. with an emphasis in logistics from the University of Missouri in 1984. 13

Before her congressional career, Wagner held management positions at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City and Ralston Purina in St. Louis, and earlier worked in her family's carpet business, Carpetime, in Manchester, Missouri. She served as Chair of the Missouri Republican Party from 1999 to 2005 and co-chair of the Republican National Committee from 2001 to 2005. 31

Wagner served as U.S. Ambassador to Luxembourg from 2005 to 2009, before returning to her home district in Ballwin, Missouri. She was first elected to Congress in 2012 and has represented Missouri's 2nd District since January 2013. 314

In 2026, Wagner won the Republican primary and is seeking reelection in the November 3, 2026 general election, where she faces Democrat Fred Wellman and Libertarian Brandon Coulter Daugherty. 1415
